Woman arrives at man's house unannounced, he seeks a personal protection order

The following list includes recent reports from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the Midland Police Department. Compiled by reporter Tereasa Nims.

11:42 p.m. - A deputy was dispatched to a Jerome Township residence for a verbal argument. The deputy contacted a 31-year-old Hope Township woman who advised she came her ex-boyfriend’s residence, a 33-year-old Jerome Township man, to get their mutual daughter. An argument ensued and the pair were separated for the night. There was no assault.

11:23 p.m. - Police responded to the 1300 block of State Street for a loud party complaint.

7:24 p.m. - The Coleman Community Schools School Resource Officer was present at the Coleman Elementary and Coleman Jr/Sr High School for open house events.

4:43 p.m. - A deputy was dispatched to Jerome Township regarding a dog locked in a car. Upon deputy’s arrival, the deputy found a dog in a car with the windows partially down and a dog that was not in any sort of distress.

4:26 p.m. - A deputy spoke with a 41-year-old Jerome Township man after a 36-year-old Midland woman showed up at his home unannounced but left upon request. The man is seeking a personal protection order.

4:04 p.m. - An animal control deputy received a complaint of two stray dogs trying to enter a chicken coop. The homeowner was able to view this on a security camera. The dogs were gone prior to the deputy’s arrival.

3:35 p.m. - A deputy located the woman who was on the shoulder. She was walking to the store from a Hope Township residence. The deputy gave her a ride the rest of the way.

2:10 p.m. - Police responded to a hit and run crash at West Wackerly and Eastman Avenue.

2:02 p.m. - A deputy assisted Jerome Township fire on a brush fire.

1:08 p.m. - Police were called for a private property crash in the 1100 block of Joe Mann Blvd.

12:30 p.m. - Police responded to the 2700 block of Dawn Drive for a larceny of a bike complaint.

10:58 a.m. - Deputies spoke to a 48-year-old man referencing a personal protection order against a Gladwin County woman. Deputies advised the man that there was no active PPO and advised the man how to seek a PPO.

10:42 a.m. - A deputy cited a 32-year-old Jerome Township woman after a traffic stop in Jerome Township. A report will be forwarded to the prosecutor.

10:50 a.m. - A deputy was dispatched to the Law Enforcement Center to complete a delayed car/deer traffic crash report that occurred in Midland Township the evening before. An accident report was completed.

9:05 a.m. - Deputies responded to a Greendale Township roadway reference a large truck having mechanical issues. Prior to Deputies arrival, Central Dispatch advised that the large truck had pulled off the roadway and was not a hazard.

6:22 a.m. - Deputies responded to Lincoln Township after a 75-year-old Lincoln Township woman reported an unknown subject at her front door during the early hours of the morning. The man was gone upon deputies’ arrival.

3:57 a.m. - Deputies were dispatched to a Mills Township residence for a 26-year-old Mills Township man who called 911 regarding a suspicious situation in his home. The deputies checked the inside of the residence, and the suspicious activity was unfounded.

3:05 a.m. - Police responded to the 4800 block of Monterey Drive for possession of heroin and methamphetamine.
