23 women beneficiaries of Resilient Rural Belize Program in Orange Walk receive training on rearing backyard chickens

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Twenty-three women beneficiaries of Resilient Rural Belize Program in Orange Walk receive training on rearing backyard chickens, according to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE).

The women from Nuevo San Juan and Santa Martha villages in the Orange Walk District who participated in the training session looked at an introduction to backyard chicken rearing, genetic improvement, feeding and nutrition, construction of chicken coops, and bird health which included vaccination programs and diseases.

MAFSE said the training was conducted by Extension Officers Vicente Tuyub and Federico Chi along with Cooperative Department Officer Francis Vega and Resilient Rural Belize’s Cornelio Tzib.
