Cult favorite chicken chain looks to be expanding in San Antonio

A September 30, 2021 deed trust filing in Bexar County records shows Texas Properties LLC, the company that owns the upcoming San Antonio restaurant, has plans for a location at 4800 Eisenhaur Road, near Windcrest. Representatives for Zaxby's were not immediately available for comment. 

If you've been reading along with our chicken coop scoops, you know that Georgia-based chicken favorite Zaxby's is planning to open San Antonio proper's first location in Alamo Ranch soon, but now there could be a second spot to fill up on crunchy tenders.

The Zaxby's in Cibolo is currently the closest option for many San Antonians. While Cibolo is close to city limits, it is a separate municipality. Prior to the 2017 opening in Cibolo, locals would have to drive to San Marcos or New Braunfels for Zaxby's.

The Alamo Ranch location does not have an exact address but is slated to open during the final quarter of the financial year, which is traditionally October 1 through December 31, a spokesperson told MySA in July.
