The Bullock Smithy pub in Hazel Grove has reopened as The Bulls Head after a £450,000 investment to transform the pub.

The new look and new named pub is run by Phil and Emma Flynn – a husband and wife team.

The reopening of the pub has created 15 new full time and part time jobs so far.

The revamp includes a complete refresh of the pub throughout, creating a more modern look and feel with new lighting, furniture, decorations and flooring inside. 

Outside, the pub’s beer garden has been completely overhauled with quirky ‘beach huts’ and a large octagonal pergola surrounding a central firepit.

The food menu includes a daily menu offering a variety of pub classics as well as a kid’s menu, senior’s menu and Sunday roast, with specials such as a Southern fried chicken burger coated in hot honey, served in a toasted brioche bun with pepperoni, cheese, pickled red onion and mayonnaise with onion rings and rosemary sea salted skin-on fries.

The London Road pub has Sky Sports and BT Sport subscriptions to show all the big sports, and also offers entertainment including music nights and karaoke. 

“We cannot wait to welcome people into The Bulls Head!” said Phil and Emma.

“The pub has been completely transformed from when it was the Bullock Smithy.

“On the inside it’s got brand new fixtures, fittings and artwork. Outside the beer garden has been completely overhauled.

“You wouldn’t even believe it was the same building!

“From great pub grub and drinks, to sport and entertainment – we have something for everyone.

“We look forward to welcoming you!”

Andy Wearn from Greene King Pub Partners, who own the pub, said: “It’s a real privilege to open The Bulls Head to the local community.

“We’ve invested £450,000 in the pub to transform it and give the people of Hazel Grove a local pub to be proud of.

“It’s unrecognisable from what the pub once was.”
