Farm Simulator 22 Animal Husbandry Guide: How to Raise Animals | Farming Simulator 22

Very similar to the previous version of the Farming Sim franchise, Farming Simulator 22 includes the ability to farm and raise many different animals as a means of making money. With cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, horses, and bees to choose from, animal husbandry can be a bit daunting.

In this Farming Simulator 22 Animal Husbandry Guide, we will discuss animals and their role in your multi-million dollar agricultural empire. We will list below the most passive to the most labor-intensive animals so that you can prioritize which ones to add to your farm. Some people need more attention than others, but not all people are rewarded for spending the same amount of time.

One of the fastest and cheapest options in the beginning is bees. Bees are one of the new animals in Farming Simulator 22, one of the best forms of passive income, but there are some caveats.

For bees, you just need to place them and provide a sending point for their honey. From there, the honey will be transported through the production chain, sold or used in larger volumes.

Having said that, you can raise bees for as little as US$1,300, but I suggest to “make them bigger” for these animals and choose the largest beehive with a cost of US$19,000 and yield. At least under normal difficulty, usually one tray of honey per day. .

In addition to being a cheap form of income, if bees are grown close to these fields, they can also bring a small amount of crop yield dividends to potatoes, rapeseed, and sunflowers. It’s worth noting that you may only have one honey collection point, so make sure to place it in a frequently visited place to keep up with the production schedule.

If you have the right facilities, the honey from these animals can be sold as is or used to produce grains.

In "Farm Farm 22", chickens are the second largest source of passive income for animals, and raising chickens is a great way to earn real cash early in your career.

Chickens are cheap animals. They cost $5 each, and if you don’t have your own trailer to haul the livestock, you have to pay for shipping. Two options are available for chicken coops: a $6,000 relatively inexpensive pasture can hold 30 chickens, or a $79,000 coop can hold 360 chickens.

The best deal here is to go to a larger chicken coop. First of all, all animal pastures need more work, because they need water, and you have to bring water to them. The chicken coop and barn will automatically replenish water for your animals.

Second, buy a rooster to fertilize the eggs-I recommend one for every 10 hens. Compared with short-term sales of eggs, having more chickens is a better long-term strategy. I started my hen house with 6 roosters and 60 hens. After the second year, my chicken population reached 246 and I didn't buy any more chickens.

Chickens can eat wheat, barley, and sorghum, all of which are good harvest crops. However, choose sorghum as your feed crop because it can be used for chickens and horses.

Sheep themselves are a good source of income. They are the last group of animals that I consider passive. For the sheep shed, your only concern is to provide grass or hay so that they can eat and drink.

For the best barn that can hold 25 sheep, the price of sheep may be higher, at US$97,000, but they are a by-product that is well worth the investment: wool.

The wool of these animals sells as it is, with an average price of US$1,000 to US$1,300 per 1 cubic meter, and the price of a full tray is about US$4,000. But the real money is turning wool into fabric at the spinning mill, which more than doubles the sales price.

Cows are one of the most iconic farm animals, so you might want to start here when adding animals to the farm, but they require more work than the bees, chickens, and sheep in Farming Simulator 22.

In order to be happy and productive, dairy cows need a mixed food called a total mixed ration. TMR consists of grass, hay, and silage, and unless you buy an automated barn for $722,500, you must make it yourself. However, it does have an automatic feeding robot that can take care of the animals for you. Nevertheless, you still need to provide grass, hay and silage, which requires time and effort.

Cows are also animals that produce mud and can be used as liquid fertilizer for farmland. If you add straw to the barn, they will become fertilizer, which can also be used as fertilizer or sold to a biogas plant to make a little more money.

Horses are firmly placed on the list of active animals, but their maintenance costs are lower than cows in terms of the materials needed to raise them. For horses, you need straw as bedding, oats/sorghum and hay as feed, and if you choose barns instead of fences (highly recommended), you don't have to worry about water.

Horses are not resource-intensive, but time-intensive animals.

There are no by-products sold from horses. On the contrary, horses are animals that need your time to train, which increases their value. You need to ride your bike every day and keep them tidy to enhance their health and physical fitness and increase their value.

You can buy a horse for $500, and after seven months of feeding, riding and grooming, you can sell it for about $1,300, which is not a small profit. I have tested all different breeds of horses, and there is no currency difference between these animals.

Pigs are the most resource-intensive animals in the basic game. Pigs need a good combination of crops to meet their food needs. The following crops are listed from the most effective to the least effective:

Although you do not have to feed all the above crops to these animals, otherwise your profits will not be maximized.

To avoid growing all these crops, please provide pig food for pigs from the store. However, this is not the most cost-effective option because each 1,000-liter food tray costs $1,000.

Pigs are animals made from mud as a by-product instead of manure (even if you add straw to the barn, this is a necessary bedding). However, they must do this in the barn; it cannot be produced on the pig farm, making the barn a better option for making more money.

Just like horses and some cows, you make money by raising and selling pigs. There is no price difference between breeds-just appearance-if all their needs are met, once they reach the proper age, pigs will usually breed every 4-5 months.

In order to maximize the profits of these animals, please invest in animal trailers and drag your pigs (and horses/cows) to the animal sellers yourself to avoid paying transportation fees.

The content covers the basic knowledge of animal husbandry and caring for animals in "Simulation Farm 22". Animals can add fun and profit to your farm, and can kill time between planting and harvesting crops. They are also a good way to earn more income during the winter when agriculture is not possible.

From Atari 2600 to TTRPG and games beyond me, so I am. You can usually find D&D on weekends, make a beer, or trip over my stuff while playing VR. Before I kick the bucket, I hope that the *prepared player #1 will meet *SAO Nerve Gear*.
